Professional forums
NKF has county divisions which primarily act as professional forum for the engineering organizations in municipalities. The county divisions organize professional conferences/meetings which primarily aim to provide members with opportunities for professional development through experience exchange and through contact and cooperation between municipalities.
NKF has organised and established professional forum in which the following are chairpersons:
· Administration and management
· Building permit issuance More
· Physical planning
· Public buildings and properties
· Roads and transport
NKF’s professional forums arrange meetings of small groups of professionals from municipalities, who are particularly interested in development within a specific professional field, in a network. The network groups primarily work with the development of the group member’s competence and organisation. In the largest network, building permit issuance, 320 municipalities participate in 35 network groups. Within public buildings and properties, 260 municipalities participate in 27 network groups. Each network group has 2-4 meetings a year.
Agreements
NKF has cooperation agreements with The Norwegian Association of Local and Regional Authorities. An important part of this cooperation is focussed on NKF providing assistance to KS in association with special interest and consultative issues, report work and intermediary and lobbying work aimed at central authorities and other municipal engineering organisations. NKF has profiled the organization well through assignments carried out for the ministry on operation and maintenance costs of municipal buildings and roads.
NORVAR
NKF has cooperation agreements with NORVAR - Norwegian Water and Wastewater BA. NKF and NORVAR have established a non-profit foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to publish Water and Waste Water/Environment Standards and to cooperate within the operation of network groups within water and waste water.
The Magazine KOMMUNALTEKNIKK
NKF publishes the professional journal KOMMUNALTEKNIKK, a journal for technology and the surrounding and natural environment. Kommunalteknikk is issued 11 times a year and has a circulation of 6,800 copies. The magazine is today the most important publication for communicating experience between colleagues in the industry. The association also publishes a series of topic booklets and guidelines. The topic booklets are prepared by a professional forum and are sent free of charge to members of the forum. More
